Tibet Entry Permit is a must for any people traveling to Tibet, you need to show this permit when you fly or take a train from any city to Lhasa. Sometimes, you will possibly be asked to show it when you buy the flight ticket Lhasa. As it is issued by Tibet Tourism Bureau, Tibet Entry Permit is also called TTB permit. If you are just visiting Lhasa area in Tibet, We just need to apply the TTB permit for you.
How to apply for it?
After you book the tour with us, you just need submit your personal information such as Full Name, Passport Number, Nationality, Gender, Birth Date and Occupation to us. After we get a COPY of your passport and China Visa together with your personal information, we will apply the Tibet Entry Permit for you.
Please note that Journalists, Diplomat, Government Officials and people who could be involved in political matters CAN NOT get their Tibet Entry Permit by a travel agency.
Here below is a sample of the Tibet Entry Permit, it consists of 2 pages. You can not enter Tibet with just one page of it. Please double check your Tibet Entry Permit before taking the flight to Lhasa.

As Alien’s Travel Permit is issued by People’s Security Bureau, it is also called PSB permit. Alien’s Travel Permit will be required if you are going outside Lhasa Area, such as Tsedang, Gyantse, Sakya, Shigatse and Mt.Everest.
Areas require Alien’s Travel Permit permits:
Gyantse: Pelkhor Chode Monastery, Kubum Stupa
Shigates: Sakya, Mt. Everest, Rongbuk Monastery
Tsetang: all the places you will visit such as Samye, Yumbulhagang, Trundruk etc.
Nyingtri: all the places you will visit such as Draksumtso, Pomi etc.
Ngari: all the places you will visit such as Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasorovar etc.
Chamdo: all the places you will visit such as Chamdo, Riwoche etc.
How to get the Alien’s Travel Permit?
The Alien’s Travel Permit can only be arranged after you arrive in Lhasa, as we need your original passport and China Visa to apply for it. You just need to hand your Passport and the Tibet Entry Permit over to your guide when you are in Lhasa. He or She will go to the Public Security Bureau to apply your Alien’s Travel Permit and get it for you on the same day. You don’t have to come in person.

Exceptional Cases:
If you are traveling overland from Sichuan, Yunnan, Qinghai, Xinjiang to Tibet, We will need to get your Entry Stamps on you China Visa to apply all the Tibet Permits for you. It means if you are going to take the overland tour from other provinces to Tibet, you need to stay in China for some days before taking the overland tour. It normally cost us 5-7days to get all the Tibet permits for you after you enter China and send us a copy of China Visa with Entry Stamps on it.
Military Permit will be required if you are traveling to Nyingtri, Ngari and etc which are regarded as military sensitive areas in Tibet. It is issued by the Military Office in Lhasa.
Areas require Military Permission/Permit:
Ngari: all the places you will visit such as Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasorovar etc.
Nyingtri: all the places you will visit such as Draksumtso, Pomi etc.
Chamdo: all the places you will visit such as Chamdo, Riwoche etc.
Overland from/to Sichuan, Yunnan, Xinjiang or Qinghai
Note: Military Permit is NOT needed for overland tour from Lhasa to Katmandu or vice Versa.
