As far as individual tombs are concerned, the Lieshan Ancient Tombs are no comparison to the Tibetan King’s Tombs, but they are neatly arranged and give an impression of grandeur. Moreover, they are well-preserved. Most of their profiles are still clearly discernable and this is true even of the materials used for their rammed-earth walls. Therefore, the Lieshan Ancient Tombs are by far superior to the Tibetan Kings’ Tombs in terms of exterior apperance. They are among Nyingchi Prefecture’s most culturally valuable sites.
Tips: Bayi Town of Nyingchi operates a daily sheduled bus to Nang County in the morning and afternoon, for 80 yuan. Zetang Town of Shannan operates one scheduled bus to Nang County. Tourists may choose between the two starting points.
