Arrival in Kunming
Arrival in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province, famous as spring city for its comfortable climate all the year round. Upon you arrival, local guide and driver will meet you at the airport and drive for about 20mins to your hotel, stay and relax.
Visit Kunming
After the breakfast visit the Lunan Stone Frost about 125 kilometers to the east of Kunming, which enjoys its distinct landscapes and unveils the best out of the wonders of the Karst topography. The Lunan Autonomous county is a home of the Sani minority. This Karst Stone Frost with an area of 270 sq km, appeared approximately 270 million years ago when the crust of earth lifted and the original endless sea allowed to disappear. The bizarre line stone rocks feature in various formation and some of them tower above to 30 m high.
Kunming-Dali (380km)
In the morning drive to Dali. Take a stroll in the alleys of this ancient small town, you can find its long history through the gates and buildings. In the afternoon, boat on Erhai Lake, which is surrounded by high mountains like Cangshan( Mt. Azure, 4122m).
Dali-Lijiang (166km)
Pass by Erhai Lake, to Lijiang, a city of 800-year-long-history, and the only city where the Naxi ethnic group lives. Wandering around the ancient street, enjoy some leisure time.
Visit Lijiang
Drive 30km northwards to Yulong( Jade dragon) Snow Mountain, stands at 5596m at south edge of Tibetan plateau. It is the kingdom of forests, rare birds and animals. After hiking the mountain, drive back to Lijiang.
Lijiang-Zhongdian (145KM, 4-5hours)
Heading for Zhongdian. Make s stopover at the Tiger Jumping Gorge, overlook the Haba Snow Mountain, reach Zhongdian.
Zhongdian-Dechen (152km, 5-6hours)
Drive along Jinsha River, have a break in the nice samll town-Benzilan, get a far view of Meili Snow Mountain(6740m), the highest peak in Yunnan Province. In the afternoon, arrive in Dechen which is close to the border between Yunnan and Tibet.
Dechen-Markam (214km)
Go on along Lancang River, upper reaches of Mekong River, lunch in Mekong Valley, pass the border between Yunnan and Tibet, pass Yanjing county and then reach Markam, meet the Sichuan-Tibet Highway sounth route.
Markham/Dzogang(zuogong) ( 158km, 5hrs )
Heading for Dzogang. Drive across the Lancang River(Mekong River) on the way, overcome 3 passes: Joba, Lawu(4358m) and Dongda(5008m). Stay in a simple guest house
Dzogang/Pasho (201km, 6 hours)
Drive upstream to Bangba, a town junction where Lhasa connects to the Chamdo-Kunming Highway. Cross Gama la Pass(4618m), reaches Pasho(Baxiu), stay in a simple Hotel.
Pasho/ Rawok Lake /Pome (219Km, 6-7hrs )
Today we'll meet a big beauty-Ranwu Lake, the pristine waters, spectacularly crystal blue lake cupped by snow peaks. Freshly caught fish served in lunch. Wander along the Poto chu Valley at Tramog(2743m), located deep in the thickly forested gorge of Parlung Tsangpo with glacier waterfalls streaming from the mountainsides.
Pome/Bayi (216Km, 6-7hrs)
Go down several hundred mter in altitude when we reach the lowland jungle settlement of Tongmai. When crossing Serkhyem la Pass(4515m), we will have spectacular views of Mt. Gyala Pelri(7151m) and Mt. Namcho Barwa(7782m). Late in the afternoon arrive in Nyingchi. Nyingchi is the most attractive place in Tibet.
Bayi / Cypresses Park /Draksum Tso
In the morning driving to visit Draksum Tso ( also known as Basum-tso).The lake and its surrounding views are beautiful and the site is also connected to the semi-mythical ruler of the Kham region and Guru Rinpoche. Take a ferry ride off the southern shore of the lake to visit the Tsodzong Monatery, most probably the highest attraction of this site.
Draksum / Lhasa (400km)
Driving from Draksum to Lhasa along Niyang River. Overnight at Lhasa.
