LHASA /YAMDROK-TSO / GYANTSE
Heading to Kambala pass which is 4794m high, you will have a glimpse of Yamdrok-tso there. It is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Then drive back to Gyantse, visit the famous stupa - Gyantse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. Overnight at Gyantse.
Gyantse / Shalu Monastery / upper Lungsang, trekking 5-6 hours, 19km
Driving to Shalu Monastery from Gyantse, only 85km away. Visit Shalu Monastery. Then start trekking. Camping to upper Lungsang.
Upper Lungsang / Ngor Monastery, trekking 4 hours, 8km, camping
It will cost you at least 3 hours from Upper Lungsang to the Char-la. From Upper Lungsang the trail cuts across the valley floor gradually making its way back to the northern side of the valley.
There is a side stream and small reservoir (4190m) 45 minutes above Upper Lungsang. This is the last convenient place to collect water until over the pass. From the Char-la, mountain ranges stretch to the west across the horizon and Nogor Monastery is visible directly below.
Ngor Monastery / Nartang Monastery / Shigatse, trekking 5-6 hours, 19km
Today trekking from Ngor to Nartang by passing several villages, saddles, and one electric utility. After arriving at Nartang Monastery, our driver will pick you up to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse
Shigatse / Tashilhunpo Monastery/ Lhasa
Visiting Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse, afternoon drive back to Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa.
